Day out with the Animals, Tea and crumpets, Imperial War Museum Duxford – suitable for toddlers and children

  1. Board the train at Cambridge and travel to Shepreth to see the wildlife park. It is right next to the station. You could spend all day here, it has a cafe and playground too. See the fluffy bunnies and underground nocturnal centre.
  2. To eat try Teacake on Meldreth Road, Shepreth, a very charming thatched cottage. It has nice sandwiches and crumpets.
  3. If you still have time, and a car, go to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford which is not far. See the impressive World War aircraft, and read the personal stories. See one hundred of the cards Captain Tom received on his milestone birthday on display in Land Warfare. It is easy to spend at least half a day if not a whole day here.
  4. Back in Cambridge you might want to eat out at some of the nice Italian restaurants for pizza such as Al Pomodoro or Tradizioni.
