This is one of the nearest lakes to Cambridge, where you can sail, hire bikes, fish or even have a BBQ. There is also a children’s playground. On the Northern Shore is an exhibition centre showing how the reservoir was built and a cafe. You can walk around the reservoir and you can also hire bikes from the centre.

Getting there: Car – 40 minutes (25 miles) via A14, then exit at 23 to A1 and B661 to Ridgeway
