The Cambridge Past, Present and Future Preservation Group (CPPFP, a local charity) have turned 27 acres of arable fields into accessible meadows with 4 miles of routes. Part of it is concrete and suitable for pushchairs, cycles and wheelchair users. There is a visitor guide on the website, with marked paths, which are worth sticking to unless you want to end up on the rifle range! You can see Beetle banks, grassy mounds in the middle of fields to provide winter houses for insects and spiders, and Black Poplars, now one of the rarest native timber species in Britain. Please note there are no toilet facilities.
