Lovely different kinds of bread, chocolate brownies and various cakes. It has built a reputation over the years to be a well loved bakery. Well worth a take away cake or two!

The Orchard Tea Gardens

This historic place sells lovely scones and tea, and on a summer’s day you can sit on one of the deckchairs in the orchard. Great for a treat after a cycle to Grantchester with the kids. Really nice home-made scones with cream and jam.

Tom’s Cakes

Handmade cakes with local ingredients, with many traditional recipes such as Lavender Cake, Cinnamon, Bramley Apple and homemade biscuits. It’s located near the city end of Mill Road, and has a cafe too. You can also order online.

Chelsea buns

Fitzbillies

This is top of the tourist trail for cakes, as it has been established for over 100 years. It’s famous Chelsea Buns are pretty delicious, big swirly glazed pastries. I am partial to their shortbread. They have afternoon teas and lunches now too and another shop in Bridge Street.
