What to do with the kids?
Autumn half term is a nice break after all the back to school rush. If your children have just started either secondary or primary, it can be a great time to just take a breath.
Outdoors is full of the changing leaves of the trees, sometimes Jesus Green and Midsummer Common become a carpet of crinkly golden leaves. Wandlebury Park is lovely this time of year.

Halloween, Fireworks, Hot Chocolate
Halloween means dressing up! Whether you like making costumes or getting them from the shop, it is fun to be someone else for the day.
The fireworks display is unfortunately not going ahead this year in Midsummer Common on 5th November. If you want to travel, Peterborough is still going ahead with their Fantasia Firework Display and there are also fireworks at Kimbolton Castle.
There are still nice things to do in the evenings, like getting a hot chocolate from Aromi or Chocolat Chocolat and seeing the town light up at night. Many spooky places in Cambridge that you can learn about in a Ghost Tour or alternatively try a Bat Safari by punt! Pumpking picking? This website from Flashpacking family lists some local places to pick them. There are Halloween events on eventbrite here.
