Accessible activities for kids

If you have a child with additional needs, many of the activities and places listed in this book have provisions to enable your child to attend the centre or activity. However there are also many specific groups and support.

Information on activities, support and events in Cambridgeshire, if you register on the SCIP database. The SCIP card can help to show that your child/young person has a disability or additional need. You need to be on the SCIP Database to get a SCIP Card, click here to apply.

Also try ABLEize is a large UK website with a database of clubs, groups and services. Click here for the website. The Cambridgeshire Council have provided a guide to this resource here.

Inclusive sports, education and more

The Council for Disabled Children offers advice and support, including a helpline in office hours, see here for their website.

For inclusive sports, the City Council has a useful page listing many providers of inclusive sports activities such as adaptive martial arts, free tennis coaching, sensory walks and more. Click here for details.

Disability Arts Online has a search facility where you can find Cambridge based art activities. There are many more groups based locally however, it is just hard to find as they are not collated together. Cambridge with Kids will list these in the future.
